About The Position

This role involves a variety of tasks including customer service, stocking, and maintaining the department. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, flexible, and prioritizes customer service while also managing stocking duties. Responsibilities include assisting customers, answering phones, processing special orders, and making judgments on returns. Stocking duties involve replenishing shelves from overstock and backstock, assisting receivers, straightening and fronting products, and performing daily and monthly deep cleaning. Product knowledge is essential, with a willingness to learn and the ability to find answers for customers. The role requires the ability to lift up to 25 lbs frequently and 50 lbs on occasion, stand for 4-6 hours at a time, and perform light repetitive tasks. The ability to operate hand trucks, utility knives, and price guns is also necessary. Fluency in English is required for reading product labels and conversing with customers.

Requirements

• Self-motivated, able to initiate and complete tasks
• Flexible, make customer service a priority while also stocking
• Able to lift 25lbs frequently, 50lbs. on occasion
• On time for shifts and breaks
• Know and follow departments and Rainbow’s policies and procedures
• Attend department and membership meetings
• For receiving shifts: able to lift 50lbs frequently
• Stand for 4-6 hours at a time
• Able to perform light repetitive tasks (lifting/pulling/pushing/reaching) up to 25 lbs.
• Able to operate hand trucks, utility knives, and price guns
• English language sufficient enough to read product labels and converse fluently with customers

Responsibilities

• Help customers in the store
• Answer phone calls and pages
• Know how to take and retrieve special orders
• Make judgements on customer returns
• Refer to buyer when necessary
• Stock from overstock and backstock
• Help receivers when necessary
• Straighten and pull things forward in entire department
• Daily and monthly deep cleaning
• Know basics of the department and be willing to learn
• Be able to refer people and find out answers
