About The Position

Archbold Memorial is seeking a Floor Technician to operate and maintain floor care equipment, perform various floor cleaning and maintenance tasks, and ensure high-traffic areas meet hospital presentation standards. This role requires adherence to safety guidelines, professional interaction with patients and staff, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

At least 19 years of age
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to operate heavy floor equipment safely.
Ability to lift 40-50lbs, push equipment, bend, and stand for extended periods of time.
Minimum of one to two years in a professional work environment required.
Authorized to work for any employer within the United States.
Must meet the healthcare facility's pre-assignment and medical requirements.
Must pass all onboarding screening processes.
Works well independently and as part of a team.
Ability to adequately operate apps/technology on a tablet and learn new software that may have to be applied to the daily tasks for this role.
Ability to effectively build relationships with patients, guests, and team members.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to lift heavy loads, reach and stoop.
Role requires continuous physical engagement including walking and standing for extended periods of time.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in floor cleaning preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain floor care equipment including auto scrubbers, burnishers, buffers, extractors, and wet vacuums.
Perform stripping, sealing, and waxing of hard floors.
Burnish and polish floors to maintain high-gloss, slip-resistant surfaces.
Shampoo carpets and extract soils using commercial carpet cleaning equipment.
Identify floor damage, wear patterns, or safety hazards and report to leadership.
Ensure high-traffic areas meet hospital presentation standards.
Follow OSHA, CDC, and hospital safety guidelines.
Wear proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times.
Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages promptly.
Participate in ongoing training related to infection prevention and workplace safety.
Interact professionally and compassionately with patients and hospital staff.
Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality (HIPPA compliance).
May have to perform other duties as required.
