About The Position

The Floor Technician position at Archbold Memorial involves operating and maintaining various floor care equipment, including auto scrubbers, burnishers, buffers, extractors, and wet vacuums. Key responsibilities include stripping, sealing, waxing, burnishing, and polishing hard floors, as well as shampooing carpets and extracting soils using commercial carpet cleaning equipment. The technician is expected to identify and report floor damage, wear patterns, or safety hazards to leadership, and ensure high-traffic areas meet hospital presentation standards. Adherence to OSHA, CDC, and hospital safety guidelines, including wearing proper PPE, is mandatory. Other duties include promptly reporting maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages, participating in ongoing training related to infection prevention and workplace safety, and interacting professionally and compassionately with patients and hospital staff while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality (HIPAA compliance). The role requires continuous physical engagement and may include assignments in the Emergency Room or Behavioral Health Units.

Requirements

At least 19 years of age
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to operate heavy floor equipment safely
Ability to lift 40-50lbs, push equipment, bend, and stand for extended periods of time
Minimum of one to two years in a professional work environment required
Authorized to work for any employer within the United States
Must meet the healthcare facility's pre-assignment and medical requirements
Must pass all onboarding screening processes
Support your team and together represent BHC Healthcare throughout the facility with professionalism, integrity, and compassion
Works well independently and as part of a team
Ability to adequately operate apps/technology on a tablet and learn new software that may have to be applied to the daily tasks for this role
Ability to effectively build relationships with patients, guests, and team members
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Ability to lift heavy loads, reach and stoop
Role may include assignments in Emergency Room or Behavioral Health Units
Role requires continuous physical engagement including walking and standing for extended periods of time

Responsibilities
