About The Position

Boxcar is hiring a Floor Team member for its Kitchen department in Durham. The Floor Team helps keep the arcade and bar safe, clean, and enjoyable for guests. Team members welcome guests, check identification, enforce alcohol and age restrictions, monitor the floor, communicate with bar and security teams, help with minor arcade-game issues, clean and sanitize the space, and assist with opening and closing. Prior experience is not necessary; Boxcar values personality, kindness, reliability, communication, and a willingness to help across the team.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Be kind, honest, considerate, and demonstrate integrity.
Be willing to pitch in across the team and take on tasks outside core responsibilities.
Show conscientiousness and genuine hospitality.
Communicate comfortably using a radio or earpiece and speak up when something appears wrong.
Be available to work weekends, closing shifts, private events, and holidays as business needs require.
Be reliable and arrive on time.
Be capable of standing and walking for 8-hour shifts and lifting up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly, check IDs, identify fake IDs, and enforce relevant alcohol and age restrictions.
Monitor the floor for safety and coordinate with bar and security teams regarding intoxicated guests or aggressive behavior.
Help guests resolve minor arcade-game issues, such as token jams or stuck skee-balls, and communicate larger issues to Game Techs.
Bus glassware and pizza trays, handle spills promptly, and keep the floor clean, sanitized, and presentable.
Assist with opening and closing tasks, including sweeping, mopping, removing trash, setting out tables, and sanitizing restrooms.
