About The Position

This is a 1st shift position responsible for cleaning debris off the floor and maintaining manufacturing equipment and building facilities within an automotive environment. The role supports preventative maintenance programs by performing various duties, including operating a floor scrubber, performing minor maintenance tasks, ensuring the building perimeter is clean, and assisting with various equipment including plumbing, piping, air systems, chillers, HVAC, and building-related repairs. The position may also involve production work, rework, or quality sorts.

• Must project a positive and energetic attitude, a strong willingness to learn, ability to analyze and solve problems.
• Must be self-motivated; requiring minimal supervision
• Must be able to obtain a motorized vehicle (Floor Sweeper) license through Multimatic New Haven to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and articulating boom lifts.
• Able to work at heights
• Able to work in confined areas
• Able to work in both hot & cold environments
• Able to collaborate with other groups around the plant to drive improvements
• Able to lift up to 50lbs, occasionally
• High School graduate or GED
• Demonstrated organizational skills & experience
• The ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents and work instructions.
• Ability to work with simple mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Able to read fractions, tape measure, and understand rations and dilutions.
• The ability to apply common sense understanding of priorities, instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing PM on all types of equipment or machinery per the PM schedule
• Performs a variety of minor maintenance tasks as needed inside and outside of plant (standard and non-standard work)
• Completes plant check list daily
• Ensures outside building perimeter is cleaned, picked up, sidewalk snow & ice maintenance and outside break areas maintained
• Responsible for operating floor scrubber throughout the plant facility as scheduled
• Works with various plant personnel to improve the overall cleanliness and order of the plant facility
• Works on a variety of equipment including plumbing, piping, air systems, chillers, HVAC, building related repairs and other types of equipment as needed
• Perform any other duties as assigned including, but not limited to production work, rework and or quality sorts, etc.
