About The Position

The Floor Person ensures that product is promptly removed from floor areas and keeps floors and drains clear of condemned product in accordance with USDA, OSHA, and company requirements. The role is based in a processing plant and supports production-area cleanliness and drain flow. The position also participates in team activities, supports Simmons operating systems, and performs other duties as needed to meet business objectives.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of a processing facility.
• Ability to work efficiently in a plant environment.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Locate and promptly remove condemned products near major walkways, drains, and standing water.
• Deliver condemned product to the condemned container.
• Clean floors with a handheld water broom when required.
• Monitor and maintain the free flow of drains in the production area when required.
• Participate in team development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.
• Coordinate work with team members to support B.E.S.T. practices and attend appropriate team meetings.
• Identify team-cohesion concerns, bring them to the team leader, and work supportively with the team to resolve issues.
• Maintain familiarity with Simmons’ established operating systems, including quality, security, office environment, and company policies; communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
• Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
