About The Position

This position is responsible for ensuring product is promptly removed from all floor areas, keeping the floor and drains clear of condemned product according to USDA, OSHA, and company requirements. The Floor Person participates as a member of the team, contributing to ongoing development and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies. They are expected to maintain familiarity with Simmons' operating systems and understand their role in supporting these systems, including communicating concerns and improvement ideas. This role also involves performing other duties as necessary to support business objectives.

Responsibilities

Responsible for locating and promptly removing condemned products that are located near major walkways, drains and standing water.
Deliver product to condemned container.
May be required to clean floors using a handheld water broom.
May be required to monitor and maintain the free flow of all drains in the production area.
Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies.
Coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members.
Attends appropriate team meetings.
Fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues.
Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues.
Actively looks for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies).
Understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems.
Considers the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
