About The Position

Miller's Health Systems is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to provide nursing care to patients during an assigned shift. The Floor Nurse follows each patient's Comprehensive Care Plan, assists the Unit Manager with thorough and accurate documentation in patient records when needed, and supervises direct resident care personnel on the shift. The role calls for clinical skill, a caring attitude, professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively with patients and coworkers.

Requirements

• Currently licensed and registered to practice as a professional nurse in the State of Indiana (RN or LPN).
• Successfully complete the pre-employment process and screening.
• Pass the physical examination required for employment at the facility.
• Demonstrate a professional manner and appearance.
• Know nursing policies and procedures, medication administration and possible side effects, treatment administration, and laws and regulations related to resident care.
• Have comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices and residents' physical, psychological, social, and medical needs.
• Understand the organizational structure and duties of employees supervised by the Unit Manager.
• Demonstrate competency in supervision and leadership.
• Have a caring attitude, be observant, and demonstrate good judgment and emotional stability.
• Be able to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients on the assigned shift.
• Follow the Comprehensive Care Plan for assigned patients.
• Assist the Unit Manager with thorough and accurate documentation in patient records when needed.
• Supervise direct resident care personnel on the assigned shift.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with applicable nursing policies and regulations.
• Maintain good working relationships with other staff.
