About The Position

Miller’s Health Systems is hiring a Floor Nurse who is a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. The nurse is responsible for the nursing care of patients on their shift, follows each patient’s Comprehensive Care Plan, and assists the Unit Manager with thorough and accurate patient-record documentation when needed. The nurse also supervises direct resident care personnel on the shift. The position calls for clinical skills, a caring attitude, professionalism, and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and patients.

Requirements

• Currently licensed and registered to practice as a professional nurse in the State of Indiana.
• Successfully complete the pre-employment process and screening.
• Pass the physical examination required for employment at the facility.
• Maintain a professional manner and appearance.
• Know nursing policies and procedures.
• Know medication administration, possible side effects, treatment administration, and local, state, and federal laws and regulations pertaining to resident care.
• Have comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices.
• Understand residents’ physical, psychological, social, and medical needs.
• Understand the organizational structure and duties of employees under the Unit Manager’s supervision.
• Demonstrate competence in supervision and leadership.
• Have a caring attitude and be observant.
• Foster and maintain good working relationships with other staff.
• Demonstrate good judgment and emotional stability.
• Follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients on the assigned shift.
• Follow patients’ Comprehensive Care Plans.
• Assist the Unit Manager with thorough and accurate documentation in patient records when needed.
• Supervise direct resident care personnel on the assigned shift.
