About The Position

The 3rd Shift Floor Coordinator (Press Operator - Level 3) assists the Shift Leader in managing the Cell to ensure daily production runs smoothly and efficiently. This role works closely with the Shift Leader and may be responsible for the Shift Leader’s duties in their absence. The position is crucial for maintaining production flow, quality standards, and accurate record-keeping.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required.
  • Good work ethic.
  • 1 - 2 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Advanced level of attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing to a wide range of audiences.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Complete L3 Training Check List.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure scraped parts are recorded on the Shift Report or Communication Cart.
  • Ensure assigned area presses have adequate and correct labels.
  • Verify that each scheduled job is correctly set up with the required OQI, packaging, tools, and line layout; scan components to the press; and ensure readiness for production.
  • Provide required breaks and lunch for assigned press operators.
  • Monitor press operators to ensure Operator Instructions are followed and notify the Shift Leader if an operator requires additional training.
  • Visually inspect parts to ensure they meet customer requirements and are packaged, and labels are scanned correctly.
  • Notify the Shift Leader to verify finished goods.
  • Band and label product correctly as required and move finished goods to staging area and/or Warehouse using a pallet jack.
  • Ensure labels are scanned appropriately when goods are transferred to the Warehouse.
  • Conduct inventory when necessary.
  • Keep production, quality, and scrap records.
  • Serve as a primary person responsible for quality.
  • Assist Shift Leader to ensure all tasks are complete to prepare for mold changes.
  • Communicate changes in standard operating procedures during the shift to the oncoming shift.
  • Cover absences for the Shift Leader, Quality Inspector, or Material Handler by performing their duties, including scheduling shift assignments, creating daily break schedules, completing daily shift reports, monitoring processes, tracking daily attendance, operating all jobs/presses in the assigned cell, performing visual inspections, cleaning grinders and dryers, loading presses with proper material, and ordering proper material for the press.
