About The Position

Under the direction of the Manager of Service Contracts, the Floor Care Custodian is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning duties, including carpet cleaning, pressure washing, hard floor restoration, specialized cleaning, and heavy-duty cleaning of public restrooms. The role requires specialized knowledge of methods and techniques for cleaning carpets, as well as stripping, waxing, and polishing a variety of floor surfaces, including wood, marble, linoleum, terrazzo, vinyl, and asphalt tile. The Floor Care Custodian will also be required to operate electrically powered equipment for both carpet and hard floor care. Responsibilities may additionally include performing the full range of assigned custodial duties. Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) year verifiable work experience in the floor care field.
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, team members, and supervisors (verbal and written).
• Must possess social perceptiveness to assess and understand other’s reactions and behaviors.
• Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to decipher various reports and maintain reports upon request.
• Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
• Self-directed, with strong ability to work independently, and to set and adhere to deadlines.
• Ability to set priorities, follow through to completion of tasks, work well under pressure, and maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Perform floor and carpet maintenance such as pressure washing, sweeping, moping, scrubbing, striping, waxing and polishing.
• Clean windows, walls and ceilings, vents, window coverings and blinds.
• Maintain and order supplies and materials necessary for assigned work.
• Maintain equipment, materials and supplies in proper condition.
• Comply with all material safety data sheets and other safety regulations.
• Perform the other facilities and custodial duties as requested such as sets up and break down meeting rooms and rearrange furniture.
• Report suspected Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation, Isolation, and Abandonment (ANEIA) immediately as mandated by state law.
• May be assigned other duties as needed
