About The Position

Verde Clean is hiring a Floor Technician to maintain and restore a variety of flooring surfaces, including carpet, wood, tile, vinyl, terrazzo, and polished concrete. The role involves using appropriate cleaning methods and approved eco-friendly products while following Verde Clean’s sustainability and safety practices. The technician is expected to exemplify Verde Vibes by living the company’s values, communicating effectively, and creating positive experiences for clients and coworkers.

The position is scheduled Sunday through Thursday, 5:00 PM to 1:30 AM, and pays $20.00 per hour. Employees participate in brief daily stretching and flexing sessions as part of the company’s injury-prevention and workplace-safety practices. Verde Clean is a minority-owned facilities services company founded in 2019, with a community-focused culture and paid volunteer hours for full-time employees.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience as a Floor Technician.
• Basic knowledge of floor-care equipment and techniques, including buffers, scrubbers, and burnishers.
• Understanding of flooring types such as tile, vinyl, carpet, terrazzo, and polished concrete, and their appropriate cleaning methods.
• Familiarity with the safe handling of chemicals and cleaning supplies.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Detail-oriented and a team player.
• Effective communication, positive attitude, accountability, organization, problem-solving, multitasking, and adaptability to changing schedules, priorities, or tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to walk and use hands to touch, handle, or feel frequently; stand occasionally; and sit occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Clean, maintain, and restore floors through vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, polishing, and waxing.
• Follow floor-cleaning procedures, including the steps for cleaning, stripping, and maintaining floors.
• Prepare floor surfaces by removing obstacles, moving furniture when necessary, and protecting nearby areas.
• Identify and treat stains and debris on carpets and other surfaces using suitable products and techniques.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot floor-cleaning equipment, including carpet cleaners, floor polishers, and steam cleaners.
• Use approved eco-friendly cleaning products and minimize waste.
• Document tasks performed, materials used, and issues encountered.
• Communicate with clients about concerns, cleaning processes, timelines, and expected results.
• Follow safety protocols, including safe handling and storage of cleaning agents.
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets Verde Clean’s quality standards.
• Stay informed about developments in floor-cleaning techniques and eco-friendly practices.
• Participate in daily brief stretching and flexing sessions.
