About The Position

The Flogging Machine/Shotblast Operator works onsite on a second-shift schedule, Monday through Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. The role operates equipment to break risers from castings weighing up to 1,200 pounds, loads and removes castings manually or with appropriate equipment, and visually inspects and sorts castings by pattern and part. The operator supports production goals by meeting production pitch, updating boards, collecting data, and participating in 6S workplace organization activities. Success requires safe, consistent, and efficient equipment operation, accurate casting inspection and sorting, and adherence to production targets. The role also requires full commitment to zero-harm behaviors and workplace safety.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Reliable work history.
Good reading, writing, mathematical, and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience operating pneumatic or hydraulic equipment.
Familiarity with 6S or similar workplace organization methodologies.
Previous experience in a manufacturing or foundry environment.
Strong attention to detail in quality inspection processes.

Responsibilities

Operate a pneumatic hammer, premature hammer, or hydraulic wedge from an enclosed cab to break casting risers.
Safely load and remove castings manually or with appropriate equipment.
Visually inspect castings for obvious defects and sort them by pattern and part.
Swing an 8–16 lb. sledgehammer for up to one hour daily, maintaining hand-eye coordination and proper lifting technique.
Meet production pitch, update boards, collect data, and participate in 6S workplace organization activities.
Operate equipment safely and efficiently, accurately inspect and sort castings, and adhere to production targets.
Demonstrate commitment to zero-harm behaviors and contribute to workplace safety.
