About The Position

High Associates is seeking a Floating Apartment Maintenance Technician with general residential technician skills for its residential communities in Lancaster, PA. This role will primarily be based out of Greenview Terrace and Barrcrest Manor but will float to other residential communities in Lancaster as needed. The Maintenance Tech will be responsible for a wide range of building maintenance responsibilities, including groundskeeping (e.g., watering flower beds), completing minor building maintenance duties as required by service requests, preparing unit turnovers, and performing routine maintenance for non-technical issues. The position also involves preventative maintenance of homes and common area enhancements.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or general equivalent (GED) required.
  • 3-12 months of directly related experience in general building maintenance and grounds experience.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing and electrical work.
  • Basic knowledge of appliance repair and HVAC.
  • Flexibility required to work a scheduled on-call rotation (one week every 4-5 weeks), which could include evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for completion of minor building maintenance duties to various properties owned and leased by High Associates, Ltd., including service requests for unit turnover preparation and routine maintenance calls.
  • Perform repair and maintenance requests related to general carpentry, drywall repair, minor electrical work, and routine plumbing and appliance repair.
  • Maintain a general working knowledge of all parts and inventory used in the day-to-day operation of properties to requisition supplies.
  • Maintain inventory records of parts and materials, as well as logs of routine maintenance.
  • Inspect buildings and apartments, inform supervisor of maintenance needs, and assist in planning and completion of preventative maintenance on HVAC systems.
  • Maintain plants and flowerbeds.
  • Maintain equipment, storage, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Follow all safety, truck operations, and other rules and regulations.
  • Promote the interests and favorable image of the High Companies and support the values of the High Philosophy.
  • Perform special assignments as directed.
