About The Position

The ELC daycare center floater is a versatile, nurturing professional who supports various classrooms by covering staff breaks, covering absences, and maintaining required child-to-staff ratios. They ensure consistent care across ages (preschool-school aged) by assisting with activities, meals, and supervision, requiring high adaptability and strong communication skill.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Strong communication, flexibility, and the ability to work with diverse age groups
  • Ability to lift children (up to ~40 lbs), bend, and sit on the floor.
  • Ability and/or willingness to learn how to operate various types of machinery to perform cleaning tasks as required.
  • Must be able to constantly position to frequently bend, stoop, reach and kneel to perform essential functions.
  • Extended time on feet is required to perform essential responsibilities.
  • Ability to climb up and down stairs and use ladders.
  • Required to wear as directed, appropriate face mask while performing job responsibilities and while present in public spaces on site.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous professional experience in a childcare or daycare setting preferred.
  • Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Move between classrooms to assist Head teachers/Assistant Teachers, providing coverage to maintain ratios, covering breaks, or filling in during absences.
  • Actively supervise children during play, meals, and nap times to ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment.
  • Implement age-appropriate activities and support educational, social-emotional development as directed by lead teachers.
  • Assist with meals, snacks, potty training, and cleaning/sanitizing surfaces.
  • Quickly learn and follow the routines, schedules, and lesson plans of different classrooms.
