Float Pool Registered Nurse ($30,000 Recruitment Compensation & $5,000 Relocation Assistance Available)
About The Position
The Float Pool Nurse is responsible and accountable to a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to the patients via therapeutic use of the nursing process, in collaboration and integration with other health care team members. S/he demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care relevant to the patient(s) under his/her care, applying principles of growth and development over the life span. S/he assesses and interprets patient data needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs. S/he functions in the role of a primary RN in at least three nursing areas including Medical-Surgical and one Critical Care area.
Requirements
- Current New Mexico or Multi-State Licensure
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA) within 3 months of hire
- Certifications required for Nursing Specific areas within 6 months of cross training: SCU, ED, Med-Surgical, House Supervisor, MATCH, PPACU, Infusion, Cancer Center and BHU.
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience in an acute care setting required
- Two (2) years Medical Surgical experience preferred
- One (1) year critical care experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Collects Health Data
- Analyzes the assessment data in determining diagnoses
- Identifies expected outcomes individualized to the patient
- Develops a care plan that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes
- Implements the interventions identified in the care plan
- Evaluates the patient's progress toward attainment of outcomes
- Systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice
- Evaluates his/her own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and relevant statutes and regulations
- Acquires and maintains current knowledge in nursing practice
- Contributes to the professional development of peers, colleagues, and others
- Makes decisions and actions on behalf of patients in an ethical manner
- Collaborates with the patient, significant others, criminal justice system personnel, and health care providers in providing patient care
- Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, and cost in planning and delivering patient care
