About The Position

MaineGeneral Health is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Float Pool Team, with the opportunity to work on various nursing units across the organization. If you have a passion for service excellence…we want to hear from you! This position is 36 hours, with three 12 hour shifts per week on the day shift (6:45am - 7:15pm), and carries generous float pool differentials. This position requires weekend and holiday rotation.

Requirements

• Active Maine RN licensure or ability to obtain same in a timely fashion
• At least 1 year of RN experience
• Willingness to cross-train to many departments and achieve multiple competencies

Nice To Haves

• Charge RN experience, or willingness to train to Charge RN duties, preferred

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel.
• May precept student nurses and new hires.
