About The Position

Responsible for scheduling patients requiring admission, diagnostics and treatment services, and classes provided by Prisma Health. This role involves coordinating the scheduling of patients, sequencing multiple tests/procedures as needed, gathering all required patient demographic, clinical and financial information, and coordinating appointments and classes with the appropriate clinical and clerical staff. The scheduler also coordinates physician scheduling with on-call schedulers and follows protocols for 'day of' procedures, prep instructions, emergencies, and rescheduling. Effective communication with physician office representatives is essential.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent or post-high school diploma / highest degree earned
• Three (3) years related work experience
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Proficient in use of telephone equipment, voicemail, and Windows

Nice To Haves

• Medical office, multi-physician practice, or in-patient medical unit experience
