Float Nurse (LPN/RN)

BHG Careers•Lexington, KY

About The Position

Behavioral Health Group (BHG) is seeking a Medication Float Nurse (LPN or RN) to provide direct patient care and medication administration across a designated group of treatment centers within close geographic proximity. Unlike a traditional nursing role assigned to one location, this position provides coverage where needed, helping maintain continuity of care and safe, effective treatment center operations. Assignments and locations may change according to operational needs and can range from a few days to several weeks. Regular travel between designated treatment centers is required. The Float Nurse administers methadone and other prescribed medications, conducts nursing assessments, evaluates patients’ dosing and treatment needs, monitors responses, and communicates relevant concerns to the treatment team. The role also supports medication accountability, clinical documentation, laboratory monitoring, specimen collection, medication inventory and shipments, and the orientation and support of nursing staff. The nurse collaborates with treatment center teams and follows applicable clinical, regulatory, and safety standards. BHG describes this as meaningful, varied work supporting patients in recovery and nursing teams across multiple locations. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with early morning hours. The posting identifies the Nashville Treatment Center as the listed location and notes that specific assignments may change based on operational needs.
