About The Position

The Boeing Company's Test & Evaluation (BT&E) division is seeking an Experienced Flight Operations Support Specialist for their team in Patuxent River, MD. This role is crucial for ensuring aircraft availability through the application of maintenance procedures, practices, and data. The specialist will leverage aircraft and regulatory knowledge to define requirements for maintenance, inspection, repair, and modification. Key responsibilities include overseeing the verification of modifications, repairs, and flight releases, reviewing aircraft airworthiness, and auditing contractor regulatory certification. The role also involves scheduling maintenance and test activities, ensuring aircraft configuration, and preparing, maintaining, and coordinating approvals for aircraft maintenance inspection plans and airworthiness certification.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
  • 3+ years of experience in an aircraft maintenance environment supporting configuration management and release for flight
  • 3+ years of experience in production, maintenance planning, and/or testing of commercial or military aircraft sub-systems and components including flight controls, landing gear, fuels, fire detection, propulsion (engine and APU), environmental controls, and avionics
  • 3+ years of experience as a maintenance planner and/or scheduler

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with military aircraft, systems, and operations
  • Experience interfacing with senior level military customers
  • Knowledge of the OPNAV 4790.2 (Series) Naval Aviation Maintenance Control Management course (D or E-555-0040)

Responsibilities

  • Performs activities to ensure aircraft availability through the application of maintenance procedures, practices and data
  • Performs analyses and applies aircraft and regulatory knowledge to support the determination of requirements for maintenance, inspection, repair and modification of aircraft
  • Oversees the verification of modification, repair and flight release; reviews aircraft airworthiness and audits contractor's regulatory certification
  • Schedules maintenance and test activities and assures aircraft configuration
  • Prepares, maintains, and coordinates approval of aircraft maintenance inspection plans and airworthiness certification for operational aircraft
  • Reviews aircraft return to service documents and documents maintenance and support concepts
