About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Flight Engineering Manager (Level K) to lead the Aerodynamic Performance team within Flight Sciences. This position is based in Everett, Washington. The Aerodynamic Performance team supports the entire airplane life cycle—from initial concept through to the retirement of the last airplane in our customers’ fleets. The successful candidate will be passionate about leading challenging technical work across multiple programs, driving process improvements, ensuring technical excellence, and fostering the professional growth of Aerodynamic Performance Engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry
  • Experience with performance analysis and mission evaluation of aircraft
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in the flight sciences / aero-performance domain

Responsibilities

  • Manages engineering and technical activities within Flight Engineering and Aerodynamic Performance
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures, and sets operational goals
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical oversight of suppliers, and leads continuous process improvements
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports
  • Oversees and approves technical approaches, deliverables, and processes to ensure quality and compliance
  • Fosters individual and team development through various engagement and mentoring mechanisms
  • Supports the advancement of core competencies and technical excellence within the Aerodynamic Performance discipline
  • Motivates and develops employees, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing of best practices and experiences
