About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Flight Engineering Manager (Level K) to lead the 737 Weight and Balance operations team within Flight Sciences. This position is based in Renton or Seattle, Washington. This first-line leadership role directs 737 Weight and Balance operations from Renton factory support through Seattle delivery, including flight test support and offsite activities as required. The position is accountable for staffing, workforce development, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness across all shifts and locations. The leader will drive continuous improvement in tools, processes, quality, and productivity while developing team capability and supporting employee growth. This role also partners across the Boeing enterprise and with external stakeholders to support weight and balance activities, flight operations, and deliveries, ensure alignment of work instructions, and promote consistent processes across sites and programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry
  • 3+ years of experience with commercial airplanes or commercial derivatives
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership"
  • Must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in the flight sciences / aero-performance domain / weights and/or mass properties engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Manages engineering and technical activities within Flight Engineering and Aerodynamic Performance
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures, and sets operational goals
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical oversight of suppliers, and leads continuous process improvements
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports
  • Oversees and approves technical approaches, deliverables, and processes to ensure quality and compliance
  • Fosters individual and team development through various engagement and mentoring mechanisms
  • Supports the advancement of core competencies and technical excellence within the Aerodynamic Performance discipline
  • Motivates and develops employees, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing of best practices and experiences
