The Flight Coordinator receives emergent and non-emergent telephone requests for patient transport and assigns the most appropriate air unit using a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system. The role serves as the primary connection between the Flight Team and the resources needed to perform transports, as well as a central hub for communications among Aviation, Maintenance, Operations, Clinical, and Administrative departments. The coordinator uses job-related tools including CAD, mapping software, communications equipment, multi-line telephone systems, and digital recording equipment. The position requires customer service, accurate documentation, clear communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes high-stress environment. Pay is listed at $20.50–$22.50 based on experience, with a $3 per hour night-shift differential and a $1 per hour weekend-shift differential. The stated progression begins as a Flight Coordinator Trainee at $20.50 per hour for the first 0–90 days. After 90 days, successful completion of training and manager evaluation brings a $1 per hour increase and progression to Flight Coordinator I. At 180–365+ days, satisfactory demonstration of advanced competency and independent function brings another $1 per hour increase and progression to Flight Coordinator II.
