About The Position

Teachers will co-plan the curriculum with CSEO post-doctoral fellow scientists and maintain continuity within the current ISR curriculum implemented during the academic year. Teachers will execute the developed curriculum as co-planned with the CSEO. This role requires adherence to institutional policies related to confidentiality and policies related to the protection of minors, including completing online training and ensuring effective student supervision at all times.

Requirements

Hold a bachelor’s degree.
Be certified to teach secondary STEM classes in the State of Tennessee.
Have content expertise.

Current MNPS teachers working with the Interdisciplinary Science and Research (ISR) program.
Teaching experience.
Experience working with advanced students.

Responsibilities

Co-plan the curriculum with CSEO post-doctoral fellow scientists.
Maintain continuity within the current ISR curriculum.
Execute the developed curriculum as co-planned with the CSEO.
Submit lesson plans and materials lists based on communicated deadlines.
Teach the group of students enrolled in class for the duration of the session.
Collaborate with CSEO post-doctoral fellows to support classroom logistics, support for students, and group dynamics.
Understand and implement policies and procedures related to protection of minors.
Ensure that at least one teacher is present within the SHIRE program at all times.
Provide student assessments, grades based on those assessments, and feedback on the assessments throughout the program, culminating in end-of-program grades to be sent to MNPS.
Adhere to institutional policies related to confidentiality.
