Requirements

  • One year of security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred
  • Have reliable means of transportation and communication.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must regularly stand or walk for extended periods of time and distance.
  • Must always be accessible for phone communication.
  • Mentally analyze a situation, solve problems, and make decisions under pressure in the area of responsibility.
  • Read and understand written instructions and communicate information and ideas in clear and concise written form.
  • Exceptional Report Writing Skills.
  • Willing and able to work holidays and weekends.
  • Willing to work in all weather conditions.
  • High School diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Provides trained, competent support by working shifts which become open due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes.
  • Enables Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to our customers, while also protecting the health and work balance of our personnel.
  • Will be trained at various posts and/or facilities based on operational need.
  • May work at a specific post or location for several weeks due to need, this will not be a permanent assignment.
  • Schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need.
  • Will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.
  • Some shifts will be scheduled in advance and posted with the new week’s schedule.
  • Sometimes will be called with short notice and asked to come in to cover for someone who is unable to work their shift.
  • Expected to work any shift for which they are scheduled in advance which falls within the availability described on this sheet.
  • Must communicate unavailability on upcoming dates or times that would normally fall within their availability.
  • Expected to work at least 80% of the shifts for which they are called in for short-notice call-ins.
  • May perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Will read and become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP and will be able to act quickly and efficiently according to such directives.
