Requirements

One year of security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred
Have reliable means of transportation and communication.
Excellent customer service skills.
Must regularly stand or walk for extended periods of time and distance.
Must always be accessible for phone communication.
Mentally analyze a situation, solve problems, and make decisions under pressure in the area of responsibility.
Read and understand written instructions and communicate information and ideas in clear and concise written form.
Exceptional Report Writing Skills.
Willing and able to work holidays and weekends.
Willing to work in all weather conditions.
High School diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

Provides trained, competent support by working shifts which become open due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes.
Enables Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to our customers, while also protecting the health and work balance of our personnel.
Will be trained at various posts and/or facilities based on operational need.
May work at a specific post or location for several weeks due to need, this will not be a permanent assignment.
Schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need.
Will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.
Some shifts will be scheduled in advance and posted with the new week’s schedule.
Sometimes will be called with short notice and asked to come in to cover for someone who is unable to work their shift.
Expected to work any shift for which they are scheduled in advance which falls within the availability described on this sheet.
Must communicate unavailability on upcoming dates or times that would normally fall within their availability.
Expected to work at least 80% of the shifts for which they are called in for short-notice call-ins.
May perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Will read and become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP and will be able to act quickly and efficiently according to such directives.
