Requirements

  • 4+ years of supervisory experience
  • Previous experience in a logistics operation or supervising a fleet of drivers
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and motivate people
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and working knowledge of a work management system (WMS)
  • Knowledge of technical aspects of transportation planning, commercial motor vehicle driver and equipment management
  • Ability to travel

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with and listen to drivers on a daily basis regarding work schedule, deliveries, customer information, strategic initiatives, policy changes, safety, load quality, and customer service.
  • Promote safety and ensure a safe work environment and safe employee work & driving habits.
  • Transportation planning and execution of outbound/inbound shipments by utilizing standard processes and logistics software/technology.
  • Manage the cost-effective routing of inbound/outbound shipments by ensuring parameters and strategies within TMS are accurate.
  • Develop a high-performance work team with high levels of employee engagement, morale, satisfaction, and performance. Provide coaching and performance communication to support development.
  • Communicate with your immediate manager, other supervisors, and appropriate personnel regarding facility, equipment, safety, environmental, work schedules, company policies and practices, performance improvement plans, etc.
  • Support employees in understanding company policies and practices.
  • Create and maintain a respectful work environment by listening, seeking facts to support decisions, managing one’s own reactions, and addressing unacceptable behavior.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager.
