About The Position

This position is the front line of communication for our customers and field operations for all general legalization and Fleet Service process questions. Associates are expected to be subject matter experts and ensure a focus on customized analytics and customer experience. The position will also be partly responsible for team currency with industry trends and driving customer compliance with state and federal operating tax requirements. This position is located at our Corporate Campus in Reading, PA.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3 years of customer service experience required
  • Must be proficient with MS Outlook, Word, Excel and Access
  • Excellent written and oral communication / presentation skills required; must be able to articulate complex subject matter to diverse audience
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must have strong analytical skills
  • Must be able to professionally network
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • If no degree, equivalent work experience is required.
  • 2 years of experience in a Legalization role or equivalent experience achieved in another role preferred.
  • Knowledge of Operational Tax, IRP, IFTA preferred
  • Knowledge of AS400 preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis on customer operating tax accounts and tax returns to identify areas of improvement so that deficiencies and opportunities are identified and communicated to customer and adjusted to ensure timely / accurate tax filing
  • Provide assistance to customers with questions regarding operating tax filings, required operating authorities, and any other general legalization or cross departmental questions to ensure that customer is made aware of any credentialing changes that are needed and their questions are answered timely
  • Provide guidance and assistance to customers with respect to all aspects of legalization requirements including International Registration Plan and International Fuel Tax Agreement / ensure customer compliance and proper legalization under these programs, all in the context of the customer experience
  • Support Supervisor with basic data analytics efforts and process controls to ensure process performance and customer expectations
  • Maintain an awareness of required legal operating authorities to ensure the department is current on all state and federal operating regulations to ensure that credentialing requirements are updated as needed
  • Drive customer compliance with state and federal record keeping requirements, operating tax filings and mandated legal document submissions so that customer is informed of all requirements
  • Other projects as assigned by the supervisor
