About The Position

This is typically a part-time, temporary, and learning type position. The primary purpose is to provide a wide range of support to the Cooperative's fleet maintenance efforts and responsibilities. The intern will cooperate and coordinate with all persons both within and outside the Cooperative to effectively carry out the responsibilities of the position.

Requirements

• Ability to inspect, diagnose, and repair the Cooperative's fleet and other miscellaneous equipment.
• Ability and willingness to interpret technical manuals.
• Ability and willingness to participate in various mentorship and training sessions.
• Ability and willingness to maintain a neat and organized workspace and shop.
• Ability and willingness to maintain proper driver's license as prescribed by management.
• Ability and willingness to accurately prepare various documents, reports, and repair tickets.
• Ability and willingness to work in a wide variety of environmental conditions.
• Ability and willingness to work in a wide variety of postures and positions, and articulate extremities into hard-to-reach positions.
• Ability to lift light and medium loads frequently, and heavy loads occasionally with assistance.
• Ability and willingness to effectively operate (or learn to operate) mobile/electronic devices and various applications.
• Willingness and ability to work in a constant state of alertness and focus due to performing or supervising safety-sensitive functions, or functions that affect the safety of other employees and the public.

Nice To Haves

• Basic familiarity with fleet maintenance, equipment operation, and computer and mobile device operation.
• A high school diploma or the equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the routine inspections of equipment.
• Assists with maintaining accurate inventory records and conducting various inventory counts.
• Attends and actively participates in employee safety meetings and other meetings.
• Cooperates and communicates with coworkers to maintain a safe and professional workplace.
