About The Position

The Fleet Service Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing vehicles within the Ground Transport department. This full-time position requires a high school diploma or GED and involves 12-hour shifts on rotating days. The role demands automotive/mechanical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The technician will be exposed to potential hazards such as chemicals, infectious diseases, and inclement weather, and must be able to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

  • Completion of High School or GED.
  • Must have a valid Georgia driver’s license and maintain a driving record that meets the requirements set forth by the hospital driving policy.
  • Must have automotive/mechanical knowledge and skills.
  • Must have problem solving abilities.
  • Must have ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Must be able to see, hear and orally communicate both in person and by phone.
  • Must be able to work on automotive vehicles.
  • Must be able to move about freely.
  • Must be able to properly lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair vehicles.
  • Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity on automotive vehicles.
  • Attend yearly driving training.
  • Attend mandatory hospital and department specific training.
  • Support the Hospital’s Policy on Operation Excellence.
  • Deliver services to physicians, patients and fellow employees with compassion and in a responsive, courteous and concerned manner.
