Fleet Performance Engineer

Dexory•Wallingford, CT

About The Position

Dexory is seeking a Fleet Performance Engineer to turn robot and fleet data into actionable fixes. The role focuses on monitoring robot and fleet health, identifying recurring failures and degradation, maintaining configuration compliance, and providing evidence to inform engineering and hardware decisions. The engineer will work with Robot Support and Commissioning to connect field failures with pre-shipment checks, and will help translate findings into playbooks for Robot Support. Success is measured by issues detected before customer impact, repeat incidents eliminated, alert quality, and configuration compliance. The position is part of Dexory, a company developing software powered by robots for global logistics.

Requirements

  • A few years of engineering experience in a data-heavy, operational, or reliability role.
  • Python, time-series analysis, and experience building dashboards that people use.
  • Linux and log-analysis skills.
  • Enough ROS knowledge to interpret what a robot was doing when it failed, or a clear appetite to learn ROS quickly.
  • Curiosity and persistence, including the ability to notice issues that have not been reported.
  • Clear written communication.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain dashboards, metrics, and alerts for robot and fleet health.
  • Analyze incident and telemetry data to identify recurring failures and leading indicators.
  • Investigate degradation signals and turn them into alerts or engineering tickets.
  • Audit fleet configuration, detect drift, restore configuration to baseline, and simplify configuration to reduce the likelihood of drift.
  • Track component-level health and contribute to preventive maintenance intervals and the monthly fleet health report.
  • Produce evidence packs for engineering and hardware decisions, showing what is failing, how often, where, and at what cost.
  • Feed findings into playbooks so Robot Support can act on them.
  • Work with Robot Support and Commissioning to connect field failures with checks performed before robots ship.
