About The Position

Darling Ingredients is looking to hire a full-time Fleet Mechanic for our plant in Berlin, WI. This position involves ensuring the operational readiness of our fleet trucks, trailers, and other heavy equipment through regular preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs. The role requires a strong commitment to safety and company regulations, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Authorized to work in the US.
Ability to service and diagnose brakes.
Ability to service and diagnose diesel trucks (tractor/trailers) and power-train mechanics.
Ability to use basic hand tools.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Detail-oriented.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Self-starter.
Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks.
Highly organized.

Nice To Haves

Vocational training.
CDL.

Responsibilities

Perform regular preventative maintenance on fleet trucks, trailers, and other heavy equipment.
Inspect all fleet equipment for compliance and functionality.
Ensure all moving parts are well-greased.
Troubleshoot issues and participate in repairs to ensure equipment is roadworthy and in good working condition.
Interpret repair manuals and work orders.
Answer roadside calls for disabled vehicles on occasion.
Keep the work environment clean and organized.
Follow all company rules and regulations, with a passion for safety.
