About The Position
The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles, diagnosing issues, and maintaining small engines and powered equipment. This role also involves conducting preventative maintenance, maintaining service records, coordinating with vendors, responding to field breakdowns, and ensuring a safe shop environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on mechanical experience
- Ability to complete paperwork and communicate effectively
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles.
- Diagnose issues accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain and repair small engines and powered equipment (sprayers, spreaders, blowers, etc.).
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and maintain service schedules.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation.
- Coordinate with vendors for specialty repairs or parts ordering as needed.
- Respond to field breakdowns when necessary to minimize downtime.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
