About The Position

Raymond West is looking for a dynamic Fleet Mechanic to join our Fleet team! The primary role of a Fleet Mechanic is to conduct mechanical repairs and maintenance on our local vehicle fleet and to upfit new/used vehicles to meet Raymond West standards. Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent Organizational Time Management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft office Suite and similar software
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
  • Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with employees, Co-workers, and Managers in other departments.
  • Must be willing to work off-hours as specific needs dictate and willing to assume more responsibility as required.
  • Able to use hand and power tools.
  • Willing to attend seminars and classes to update/improve various skills.
  • Capable of making sound decisions.
  • Sound mechanical abilities.
  • Able to operate motor vehicles and forklifts.
  • Must be able to provide a current, valid, unrestricted driver license.
  • Qualified candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred prior automotive/mechanical experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on the local vehicle fleet.
  • Document all maintenance and repairs using Fleetio, our fleet management platform.
  • Manage parts and accessories inventory in the Fleet department, promptly notifying Procurement for reorders when needed.
  • Upfit vehicles, including GPS installation, flooring, cabinetry, PPE, tools/tool storage, electrical work, and any other necessary accessories.
  • Assist and coordinate with 3rd party vendors requiring access to our fleet vehicles for services like vehicle wraps, windshield repairs/replacement, and insurance assessments.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of all areas within the Fleet department, both internally and externally, by performing tasks such as sweeping, mopping, trash removal, proper oil/fluid disposal, and shop organization.
  • Ensure the parking lot remains clean and organized to facilitate vehicle movement, locate vehicles easily, and maintain a safe environment.
  • Collaborate with the Facility Maintenance Specialist for proper disposal of waste, metal scrap, and hazardous materials (both solid and non-solid).
  • Work on special projects in conjunction with department managers when necessary.
