About The Position

The Vehicle Mechanic reports directly to the Vehicle Maintenance Manager. The Mechanic will perform repairs and maintenance for cars, trucks, heavy equipment, and small engines. The person responsible will also assist in duties required to perform day-to-day tasks and duties assigned to them by the Vehicle Maintenance Manager.

Requirements

Must be minimum of 18 years of age
High School Diploma or GED.
Any combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Knowledge of automotive functionality
Knowledge of: Principles and practices of record-keeping.
Knowledge of: Principles and practices for providing a prominent level of customer service.
Knowledge of: Modern office practices, methods, and computer equipment and applications.
Ability to multi-task in a changing environment
Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays as needed
Maintain records and files on work performed.
Current California Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record maintained throughout employment.

Nice To Haves

Commercial Driver’s License is a plus.

Responsibilities

Identify problems with vehicles using diagnostic tools and experience.
Plan and execute repair procedures, following technical manuals and specifications.
Repair or replace worn or damaged parts, including brakes, suspension, engine components, and electrical systems.
Perform routine maintenance tasks like oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
Test vehicles to ensure repairs are effective and systems are functioning correctly.
Cleaning vehicle interiors and exteriors in compliance with all company standards and client requests.
Moving and parking vehicles, delivering vehicles to correct locations, or picking owners or drivers up if needed.
Managing inventory of vehicle cleaning and restoration supplies.
Responding to client inquiries and fulfilling their requests.
Follows safe working practices and makes appropriate use of related safety equipment as required.
Performs other duties, as assigned.
