About The Position

This role owns the mobile equipment that keeps a growing frac sand operation moving. The Fleet Manager is responsible for deciding what gets inspected, what gets fixed first, and what parts are on the shelf before anyone needs them. This position works closely with mechanics, plant leadership, and operations, and the results of decisions are visible in the plant's numbers daily. The ideal candidate comes from mining, aggregates, manufacturing, heavy industrial, or any field where mobile equipment must operate reliably and safely.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience managing or maintaining mobile equipment, vehicles, or heavy industrial fleet assets
  • Solid grasp of vehicle mechanics and the judgment to know when a repair becomes a major one
  • Confidence with diagnostic tools to troubleshoot mechanical issues
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Clear verbal and written communication
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, stoop, bend, or kneel for extended periods, indoors and outdoors in varying weather

Nice To Haves

  • Heavy industrial, mining, or mobile equipment fleet experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Run daily fleet operations — mobile equipment stays maintained, inspected, and ready to work.
  • Walk the iron and spot worn or damaged parts, components, and systems before they become downtime.
  • Assign and prioritize work orders for engines, fuel, exhaust, cooling, and electrical repairs.
  • Test-drive and verify — nothing goes back in service until it's right.
  • Keep maintenance and repair records clean and audit-ready.
  • Own parts inventory: order, audit, and stock so repairs don't wait on a shipment.
  • Partner with plant leadership, maintenance, and operations to keep production on schedule.
  • Set the safety standard and keep every asset compliant with MSHA and company requirements.
