INTERNAL - Fleet Maintenance Tech
About The Position
Hilton Mechanical Contractors is seeking any current employees interested in working as a Fleet Maintenance Technician, supporting our vehicle and equipment fleet across our Georgia locations. This role involves performing routine maintenance, diagnosing issues, and repairing trucks, trailers, and equipment to keep our fleet running safely and efficiently. The Fleet Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing scheduled and corrective maintenance on HMC's fleet of service vehicles, trucks, trailers, and field equipment. This role keeps HMC's assets road-ready and field-ready to minimize downtime and support continuous project operations.
Requirements
- Experience with hands-on automotive/diesel and heavy equipment maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and service manuals
- Proficiency with diagnostic scan tools
- Valid driver's license with clean MVR
- Ability to work independently and travel between locations
Nice To Haves
- CDL a plus
- ASE certification(s) preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance (oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, tire rotations, brake inspections) on fleet vehicles and equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues across a mixed fleet
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspection support and follow-up repairs
- Maintain accurate work orders, parts usage logs, and service records
- Coordinate with the Fleet Manager on repair priorities and parts procurement
- Perform roadside and on-site emergency repairs as needed
- Ensure all vehicles meet DOT inspection and safety standards
- Support the Master Mechanic on complex diagnostics and heavy repairs
