About The Position

The Fleet Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, adjusting, repairing, and maintaining all company DIESEL SEMI TRUCKS & TRAILERS. This role involves performing routine maintenance, repairing trailers, and completing truck repairs (excluding complete engine overhauls). The position requires adherence to a culture of safety, maintaining cleanliness, and protecting company assets. Regular attendance and the ability to perform physical requirements are essential.

Requirements

Experience working on Semi Trucks & Trailers
Working Knowledge of Hydraulic Systems
Driver’s License Required: Must have clean driving record with at least a Class B; Class A would be beneficial but not necessary.
Job-Specific KSA’s: Tire & Automotive Industry – Essential industry information including tire brands, designs, treads; proper safety and functional procedures, and relevant customer markets.
Mastery of all major automotive emissions, engine management, and electrical systems
Mechanical — Knowledge of automotive vehicles and tools, including their repair, and maintenance.
Equipment Maintenance — Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
Repairing — Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
Troubleshooting — Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.

Nice To Haves

Class A driver's license would be beneficial but not necessary.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, adjust, repair, and maintain all company DIESEL SEMI TRUCKS & TRAILERS.
Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure they are in proper operating condition.
Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.
Adjust and reline brakes, align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment.
Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices.
Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
Repair and maintain company trailers.
Complete all truck repairs less than complete engine overhauls.

Maintain standards of cleanliness, orderliness, and appearance of maintenance shed.
Protect company assets.
Regular attendance in accordance with assigned schedule.
