Our company is one of the most significant publicly traded water, wastewater service and natural gas providers in the U.S. We are seeking a motivated Fleet Intern to support needs within our fleet operations. This role will focus on supporting operational needs (e.g., drivers, logistics, operations, maintenance) while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced, operations-driven environment. This is a great opportunity for a student interested in operations who wants real-world experience supporting a critical business function.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a college or university degree program (Business, Communications, or related field preferred)
High School Diploma or GED required
Interest in workforce operations or fleet environments
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
Comfortable using Microsoft Office and learning new systems
Detail-oriented, reliable, and eager to learn

Responsibilities

Assist with daily fleet operations coordination, including tracking headcount and role coverage
Support driver onboarding and orientation logistics (scheduling, documentation, readiness checks)
Track and report on fleet workforce metrics (attendance, fill rates, turnover support)
Assist with route or shift assignment coordination in partnership with operations leaders
Help ensure compliance documentation is collected and up to date (licenses, certifications, etc.)
Support communication with field teams regarding open roles, schedule needs, and updates
Assist with process improvements to streamline hiring and onboarding for fleet roles
Maintain organized records and support data entry and reporting for fleet workforce activity
