About The Position

The Fleet Coordinator plays a critical role in managing and optimizing the operations of a company's vehicle fleet to ensure efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness. This position involves coordinating vehicle maintenance schedules, tracking fleet usage, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements across all fleet activities. The Fleet Coordinator will serve as the primary liaison between drivers, maintenance teams, and management to facilitate smooth communication and timely resolution of any fleet-related issues. By analyzing fleet data and performance metrics, the coordinator will identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings. Ultimately, this role ensures that the fleet supports the organization's operational goals while maintaining high standards of safety and reliability.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher preferred.
• Proven experience in fleet management, logistics, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures and transportation regulations.
• Proficiency with fleet management software, Microsoft Office Suite, Google
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Organizational skills daily to manage complex scheduling and maintenance tasks, ensuring that all vehicles are operational and compliant with regulations.
• Communication skills are essential for coordinating between drivers, maintenance teams, and management, facilitating clear and timely information exchange.
• Analytical skills are applied when reviewing fleet performance data to identify trends and recommend improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Proficiency with fleet management software and technology enables the coordinator to track vehicle locations, maintenance schedules, and fuel usage effectively.
• Problem-solving skills are critical for addressing unexpected issues such as vehicle breakdowns or regulatory compliance challenges promptly and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate routine and emergency maintenance, repairs, and inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, maintenance history, fuel consumption, and driver logs.
• Monitor fleet performance metrics and prepare regular reports for management review.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations and company policies.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, vendors, and internal departments to resolve issues promptly.
• Assist in budgeting and procurement processes related to fleet acquisition and disposal.
• Implement and promote safety programs and best practices among fleet personnel.
