About The Position

The Flatwork Sewing Associate operates sewing machines to join fabric pieces for upholstered furniture. The role sews flatwork for different products, including top stitch and welt, and follows production work tickets to sew fabric according to the requested specifications. The associate works as part of a team to meet or exceed production goals and may learn additional functions through cross-training in other departments as needed. The position is located at Century Upholstery Plant 2 in Hickory, North Carolina, and is a full-time day-shift role.

Requirements

Good hand-eye coordination, concentration skills, and attention to detail.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous sewing experience is a plus.
Ability to sit for prolonged periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Ability to work in noisy environments.
Manual dexterity to assemble products or operate machines as directed.
Occasional lifting or carrying of objects up to 25 pounds; rare lifting or carrying of objects weighing 26–40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Previous sewing experience.
