About The Position

ATI is seeking a Flash Grinder for its Monroe, North Carolina facility. The position performs precision surface-grinding operations using flash grinders as part of the finishing process, ensuring bars meet quality and dimensional requirements. The successful candidate is self-motivated and attentive to detail.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to read a tape measure and other measuring devices.

Nice To Haves

• One year of manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Use frame grinders to remove excess flash and defects, including laps, seams, pits, and cracks identified by the operator.
• Load and unload machines physically or with an inside crane.
• Grind oversized bars to meet size specifications using frame grinders.
• Check materials for dimensional accuracy using templates, drawings, or micrometers.
• Measure bars to determine where samples should be cut for template checks.
• Visually inspect materials for surface defects and mark them for cut-off operations.
• Maintain material identity by heat number, order number, or other identifying code.
• Detect and report damaged material and improper operations, referring questionable matters to appropriate supervision.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment.
• Follow prescribed safety regulations.
