About The Position

Pursuit Aerospace is seeking a skilled Grind Operator for its aerospace manufacturing team in Prescott, Arizona. The position operates precision grinding equipment to produce high-tolerance components according to aerospace specifications, requiring knowledge of grinding processes, shop safety, and aerospace quality assurance procedures. The role involves working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and collaborating with engineering, quality assurance, and production team members.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience operating grinders in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
• Proficiency using precision measuring tools and inspection techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and geometric tolerancing.

Nice To Haves

• Technical certification or apprenticeship.
• Strong understanding of grinding techniques, metallurgy, and material removal rates.
• Familiarity with aerospace quality standards such as AS9100 and NADCAP.
• Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate precision CNC grinding machines, including rotary and ID/OD grinders.
• Read and interpret engineering blueprints, work instructions, and GD&T specifications.
• Measure and inspect finished parts using precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, and bore gauges.
• Maintain tolerances as tight as +/- .0001” as required by aerospace standards.
• Adjust machine settings to achieve required finish, dimensions, and surface quality.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on grinding machines.
• Complete work in compliance with AS9100 or other relevant aerospace standards.
• Document work performed and inspection results accurately.
• Collaborate with engineers, quality assurance personnel, and team members to resolve issues.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with company policies.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
