About The Position

The Flag Football Head Coach is responsible for recruiting and retaining players, planning and conducting practices, coaching during games, and managing other administrative responsibilities associated with the team. This part-time position runs from September 1st to May 15th each academic year.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of coaching experience at the high school, prep, junior, or collegiate level
  • Must be willing and available to work nights and weekends, as the majority of games are Friday-Sunday
  • Possess experience working with diverse staff, including college-age students
  • Must maintain coaching certification or have the ability to acquire certification
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Applicants must be lawfully authorized to work for any employer in the United States. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the recruitment of prospective students who meet university admission standards.
  • Responsible for all league-required paperwork, as well as understanding all associated rules.
  • Responsible for retention of team members, particularly first-year students, and ensuring their transition into college is seamless.
  • Work with club sports staff to develop a cohesive program and highlight those via social media and the Club Media website.
  • Develop a recruitment Plan beyond the upcoming season.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the department regarding practice and game times/dates.
  • Prepare, plan, and coordinate practice schedules each week and provide proper and high-quality instruction to student-athletes to ensure all team members are prepared for competition.
  • Coordinate with the Athletic Training staff regarding player safety and medical needs.
  • Oversee all game day operations including game planning, transportation, and game roster, in conjunction with other coaching staff.
  • Work closely with the Associate Director for Club Sports & Intramurals on the preparation of the season, schedule, and recruitment.
  • Responsible for ongoing recruitment and retention of student-athletes.
  • Manage coaching staff and student manager staff as hired by the Club Sports department.
  • Foster strong, professional relationships with league representatives and officials, consistently demonstrating positive sportsmanship and conduct that reflects the University’s mission and values.
  • Other duties as assigned.
