About The Position

Delta Technologies is seeking an experienced Fixture Builder Journeymen. This role involves all aspects of Bridgeport operations and setups for machining simple and complex details, operating surface grinders and jib grinders, and understanding safe machining processes. The position also requires knowledge of RFS pins, press fit pins, and proper assembly techniques, as well as manual drilling, reaming, and tapping. Accurate use of measuring devices is essential, along with a functional understanding of standard and non-standard gages and fixtures, and the ability to troubleshoot assembly issues. Ensuring gages function appropriately for the material of the parts being gaged is also a key responsibility. Experience with welding is a plus, as is the capability to lead/train other fixture builders.

Requirements

  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 7 years of fixture build experience with Automotive Checking Fixtures or equivalent apprentice program training.
  • Working knowledge of fixture build practices.
  • Functional understanding of GD&T and its application.
  • Familiarity with using 3D Viewer Software for pulling and dimensioning details from designs.
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude, good work ethic, and punctuality.
  • Organized and able to multitask.
  • Must have your own tools for all processes of fixture building.
  • Experience with the evolving pace and environment of a fixture shop.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Capable of leading/training 2-3 upgrader fixture builders.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Bridgeport machines for simple and complex details.
  • Operate surface grinders and jib grinders.
  • Understand safe machining processes for various materials.
  • Understand the functionality of RFS pins and best practices for press fit pins.
  • Assemble all pins properly.
  • Perform manual drilling, reaming, and tapping of holes.
  • Accurately use measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, height gage) for precise workmanship.
  • Lead/train 2-3 upgrader fixture builders (a plus).
  • Troubleshoot functional issues in the assembly process.
  • Ensure gages function appropriately for the material of the parts being gaged.
