About The Position

The Inland Group of Companies (IDS and Quantem Aviation Services) is a trusted aviation partner operating at over 50+ airports across Canada and the United States. We deliver aircraft de-icing, fueling, environmental management, ground handling, and other specialized aviation support services. Safety is our highest priority. The Manufacturing Fitter-Welder will play an important role in ensuring the proper performance, safety, and reliability of company equipment.

Requirements

Must be able to pass pre-employment background check.
Must have your own welding helmet.
Ability to perform core manufacturing processes (Acetylene cutting, scarfing & welding, plasma arc cutting, hydro testing pipe, etc.).
Ability to inspect parts with a focus on best-in-class quality control.
Read, write, speak and communicate effectively.
Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently to achieve project goals before deadline.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to maintain a positive and good-natured attitude.
Ability to remain calm and perform under pressure within fixed time constraints.
Must possess a strong work ethic, positive attitude, with an ability to motivate and work in a team environment.
2-year Welding Diploma.
A minimum of 3 – 5 years of welding experience.
Experience with carbon, stainless steel and aluminum tig welding is mandatory.

Responsibilities

Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and HAVE ZERO TOLERANCE FOR UNSAFE ACTS!
Plan and carry out work assignments and handle problems in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training or accepted company practices and procedures.
Interpret construction drawings (blueprints and general layouts).
Fit various metals such as carbon, stainless steel and aluminum.
Design and construct jigs and templates when required.
Set up and operation of GMAW, FCAW, SMAW, GTAW welding applications.
Keep all Inland owned or managed equipment, tools and materials in good working condition, including keeping clean and returning to assigned storage areas when not in use.
Work cooperatively with all team members and external stakeholders involved in the completion of assigned duties.
Promote the best interest of the company by fostering goodwill and support between Inland and its customers ensuring that Inland’s policy of superior service and satisfaction are met.
Understand and promote the Company’s mission statement, values and strategic goals.
Foster a team environment and create a “group culture”.
Drive and maintain a high level of efficiency and productivity.
