About The Position

Valtir is seeking a Career Fitter/Welder to join their team in Fort Worth, TX. Valtir is a global supplier of highway safety products with over 50 years of industry leadership. The Career Fitter/Welder will be responsible for ensuring their team's daily work assignments are completed accurately, on time, and safely. This role requires proactivity in identifying and solving problems, and acting with integrity and safety. The position is located at the Ft. Worth, TX plant.

Requirements

Minimum 1 year of experience
Pass welding test.
Must be able to read specifications, shop drawings and blueprints.
Ability to perform all essential functions safely and efficiently.
Ability to follow directions and maintain a professional work environment.
Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work within a teamwork environment.
Able to use measuring tools and inspection gauges.
Basic shop math
Regular and predictable attendance.
Must be able to lift 60 lbs.
Must be able to work in a manufacturing facility standing most of the day.

Responsibilities

Lays out, positions, aligns and fits together fabricated parts of metal according to layouts and work orders, blueprints, schematics and sketches in preparation.
Tack-welds pieces together. Applies appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate and repair parts of metal or other welding materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints schematics and sketches using manual, semi-automatic or automatic welding equipment.
May operate production equipment to cut, punch, or form parts for welding. May lay out and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies. May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools. May inspect completed work for conformance to specifications.
Observes all standard safety practices and maintains and completes all required records. Follows all safety rules and practices. May be involved in safety committees or initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned.
Performs flat fillet welds; Fits and welds simple assemblies; accurately measures within specified tolerances; reads blueprint; May operate automatic welding equipment (robotic welding) requires general supervision.
Fits and welds complex assemblies; Ability to operate fabrication machinery as needed; Accurately measures within specified tolerances; Reads and interprets blueprints; Operates automatic welding equipment (robotic welding); May be proficient at multiple pass welding.
