About The Position

Arcosa Shoring Products is hiring multiple full-time Fitter/Welders at its Union City, Michigan plant to meet increased production demands. The role involves laying out, positioning, aligning, and fitting fabricated metal parts according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches in preparation for welding, then tack-welding pieces together using MIG welders. The company manufactures trench shields and shoring equipment for the construction industry.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Compensation includes competitive wages, regular opportunities for merit increases, professional growth opportunities, and incentives for outstanding performance. Benefits become available on the first day of the month following 60 days of employment.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of MIG welding experience.
• Qualified to weld steel and aluminum.
• Experience reading specifications, shop drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Must pass a two-part weld test as part of the interview process.

Responsibilities

• Fit and weld sub-assemblies into the final product.
• Perform flat and horizontal groove welds.
• Accurately measure within specified tolerances.
• Read blueprints.
• Perform flat and horizontal fillet welds.
• Lay out, position, align, and fit fabricated metal parts in preparation for welding.
• Tack-weld pieces together using MIG welders.
