About The Position

This position is for a Fitness Center Technician at the Betsie Hosick Health and Fitness Center. The role involves working in a fitness center environment, assisting members, and performing various administrative and operational tasks. The schedule is variable, up to 40 hours per week, including two Saturdays per month. Requirements

High school graduate.
First Aid and CPR certification required.
Experience in office procedures required.
Well-developed communication and interpersonal relationship skills required.
Ability to complete clerical tasks with a high degree of accuracy required.
Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
Must be able to lift 30 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of medical/fitness terminology desired.
Previous experience in a fitness center or public contact setting desired.

Responsibilities

Meet the physical requirements of the position, including walking, standing, sitting, bending, stretching, kneeling, and twisting.
Lift up to 30 pounds.
Perform job duties safely, utilizing learned body mechanics and lifting techniques.
Report any unsafe situations or equipment concerns to the manager and tag equipment out of service if not functioning properly.
Schedule appointments and classes for customers, maintaining knowledge of classes offered and pertinent information.
Communicate scheduled appointments to program providers.
Provide information to members regarding procedures, exercises, classes, and equipment.
Inform members about membership rates, options, and fees.
Answer phones and direct inquiries appropriately.
Receive, distribute, and file documentation received via facsimile machine.
Maintain a daily cash sheet.
Complete center opening and closing duties.
Greet visitors and members in a friendly and helpful manner to provide a professional and welcoming environment.
Provide tours to potential and new members.
Instruct and assist new members in proper equipment usage and basic exercise programs.
Assist members with upgrading or changing exercise programs.
May teach fitness center classes.
