About The Position

The Guest Services Associate is responsible for member services and health club operations. This role involves maintaining a warm and hospitable atmosphere for all members and guests, ensuring they are acknowledged promptly and checked in according to specific procedures. The associate will direct members and guests to the appropriate persons, make them feel comfortable, and communicate with them on a first-name basis. Responsibilities also include managing incoming phone calls, taking and delivering messages, providing workout sheets, organizing and filing paperwork, and entering data into the computer for record maintenance. Additionally, the role involves distributing locker keys, towels, and other amenities, selling health bar and pro shop items with accurate record-keeping, and making appointments for fitness consultations and personal training. Maintaining the cleanliness of the front desk, lounge area, club equipment, and facilities, as well as refilling amenities and laundering towels and workout wear, are also key duties. Effective communication with all levels of club staff is essential to ensure quality customer service. The associate will also perform accurate cash management and/or cashier closing duties, and various other assignments as necessary.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Outgoing personality with the ability to learn names and communicate effectively and constantly with a variety of people.
  • Good interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Basic word processing and spreadsheet skills.
  • Sincere interest in fitness and health and a desire to maintain or improve one’s own level of fitness.
  • Ability to complete both a drug and background screening.
  • Current CPR/AED/First Aid/BBP certifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Current Personal Training and/or Group Fitness certification from an accredited and CHU accepted organization (only required if wanting to partake in conducting services).

Responsibilities

  • Acknowledge members and guests promptly and ensure they sign in/check in according to procedures.
  • Direct members and guests to the appropriate persons.
  • Make guests and members feel comfortable while in the fitness center.
  • Communicate with members on a first-name basis.
  • Receive incoming phone calls and direct them to the appropriate persons.
  • Take accurate messages and deliver them to the appropriate persons.
  • Provide members and guests with daily workout sheets.
  • Organize and file paperwork and enter data into the computer to maintain accurate records.
  • Distribute locker keys, towels, washcloths, workout attire, etc.
  • Sell health bar and pro shop items, maintaining accurate sales records.
  • Make appointments for fitness consultations, personal training, etc.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the front desk and lounge area.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of all club equipment and facilities.
  • Refill amenities in locker rooms and common areas.
  • Launder towels, workout wear, etc.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of club staff.
  • Perform accurate cash management and/or cashier closing duties.
  • Perform various other duties and assignments as necessary or required.
