About The Position

The Fitness Center Guest Services Associate is responsible for maintaining a warm and hospitable atmosphere for all members and guests. This role involves greeting members, managing check-ins, directing guests, and ensuring a comfortable experience within the fitness center. The associate will also handle incoming phone calls, take messages, provide workout sheets, and maintain organized records. Additionally, the position includes distributing locker keys, towels, and other amenities, selling items from the health bar and pro shop, and making appointments for fitness consultations and personal training. Maintaining the cleanliness of the front desk, lounge area, equipment, and facilities, as well as refilling amenities and laundering towels and workout wear, are key duties. Effective communication with all club staff is essential to ensure quality customer service. The role also involves accurate cash management and cashier closing duties, along with performing other necessary tasks.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Outgoing personality with the ability to learn names and communicate effectively and constantly with a variety of people.
  • Good interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Basic word processing and spreadsheet skills.
  • Sincere interest in fitness and health and a desire to maintain or improve one’s own level of fitness.
  • Ability to complete both a drug and background screening.
  • Current CPR/AED/First Aid/BBP certifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Personal Training and/or Group Fitness certification.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a warm and hospitable atmosphere for all members and guests.
  • Acknowledge and check in members and guests according to specific procedures.
  • Direct members and guests to the appropriate persons or areas.
  • Make guests and members feel comfortable in the fitness center.
  • Communicate with members on a first-name basis.
  • Receive and direct incoming phone calls, take and deliver messages.
  • Provide members and guests with daily workout sheets.
  • Organize and file paperwork and enter data into the computer for record maintenance.
  • Distribute locker keys, towels, washcloths, workout attire, etc.
  • Sell health bar and pro shop items, maintaining accurate sales records.
  • Make appointments for fitness consultations, personal training, etc.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the front desk and lounge area.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of all club equipment and facilities.
  • Refill amenities in locker rooms and common areas.
  • Launder towels, workout wear, etc.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of club staff.
  • Perform accurate cash management and/or cashier closing duties.
  • Perform various other duties and assignments as necessary or required.
